We report a measurement of the flux-averaged neutral-current elastic differential cross section for neutrinos scattering on mineral oil (CH 2) as a function of four-momentum transferred squared, Q 2. It is obtained by measuring the kinematics of recoiling nucleons with kinetic energy greater than 50 MeV which are readily detected in MiniBooNE. This differential cross-section distribution is fit with fixed nucleon form factors apart from an axial mass M A that provides a best fit for M A ¼ 1:39 AE 0:11 GeV. Using the data from the charged-current neutrino interaction sample, a ratio of neutral-current to charged-current quasielastic cross sections as a function of Q 2 has been measured. Additionally, single protons with kinetic energies above 350 MeV can be distinguished from neutrons and multiple nucleon events. Using this marker, the strange quark contribution to the neutral-current axial vector form factor at Q 2 ¼ 0, Ás, is found to be Ás ¼ 0:08 AE 0:26.

Measurement of Neutrino-Nucleon Neutral Current Elastic Scattering in MiniBooNE
Using a high-statistics sample of neutral current elastic neutrino interactions, MiniBooNE measured the fluxaveraged neutral current elastic differential cross-section on mineral oil (CH2). Using the latter, a χ2 test of MC with different values of the axial vector mass has been performed. Also, a possibility of using a sample of neutral current elastic protonenriched events above Cherenkov thr...
متن کاملQuasi-elastic Scattering Cross Section
Using high statistics samples of charged current interactions, MiniBooNE reports a model independent measurement of the single charged pion production to quasi-elastic cross section ratio on mineral oil without corrections for pion re-interactions in the target nucleus [1]. The result is provided as a function of neutrino energy in the range 0.4 GeV < E < 2.4 GeV with 11% precision in the regio...

The neutral current elastic scattering of neutrinos on Carbon and CH2 targets is computed using the relativistic distorted-wave impulse approximation with relativistic optical potential. Results for exclusive and inclusive neutrino reactions on 12C target are presented. We show that the nuclear effects on the shape of four-momentum transferred squared distribution dσ/dQQE in neutrino neutral-cu...

In addition to optimal conditions, invariant laws of Lorentz, parity and time reversal are imposed to find the relation between observables (spin rotation parameters) and bilinear combination of helicity amplitudes in pion-proton elastic scattering at 6.0 GeV/c. By normalizing the differential cross-section to unity, the magnitudes of helicity amplitudes and the angle between them are dete...
